Over the years, our week of Gold Medal Squared Team Camp has proven to be pivotal in our preparation for the season ahead… this year will be no exception! We are looking forward, not only to a week of intensive individual improvement and team development, but also the opportunity to collectively gain an understanding of the true character of our team, which can only be found when challenged to go beyond our current capabilities. KING’S VOLLEYBALL 2019 TEAM CAMP
July 8th – 11th (Monday – Thursday)
King’s High School Volleyball team camp will be held July 8th – July 11th @ Mike Martin Gym. For the 13th consecutive year we will utilize coaches from Gold Medal Squared (GMS) to come to our gym and train our players. As in previous years, Gold Medal Team Camp is open to all returning players and incoming 9th graders.
Team Camp is a critical component to the success of our program. Please make every effort to attend all days.
Registration
Online registration is now open. Please navigate to the Gold Medal web site today and follow the "I am a Parent" instructions link and register by selecting our camp by month (July), state (Washington), city (Shoreline) and school (King's High School). Upon completing your registration you will receive a Gold Medal Squared Confirmation e-mail.
Cost and Payment
The cost for team camp this year is $225 ($185 for the Gold Medal tuition and $40 for meals).
Payment of the $185 is handled directly through the GMS website.
Payment of the $40 for food during the week can be made payable to Anne-Marie Rudd

2019 GMS CAMP COACHES
JASON HALDANE - LEAD CAMP COACH

Jason Haldane is a former olympian and professional volleyball player who has also coached for years professionally oversees as well as locally with the Canadian National team.
Born in Vancouver BC, Haldane grew up in Kitwanga, BC and started his volleyball career in Terrace 1988-89, playing at Caledonia Secondary School in his Grade 11/12 years. He played volleyball with Langara Community College and Grand Prairie Regional College for several years and then tried out for the Canadian junior national team. Haldane played on Team Canada 1992-2004 which propelled him into the professional leagues in Europe.
Haldane played professionally throughout Europe for 16 years in Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, and more. Jason transitioned into professional coaching in Turkey and also helped coach the Canadian National Team and is currently coaching professionally in Cannes, France.
Haldane loves giving back to the volleyball world as he puts it by coaching the game he's loved over the course of his amazing career. “It’s something that I have a lot of passion for. Volleyball has given me a great life, it’s still giving me a great life, and I love being part of it,” he said. Coaching “is a good fit for me,” he said.
Haldane will be our lead camp coach bringing a different and more advanced approach to our teaching.

aric anderson - Camp Coach

Aric Anderson has been coaching Chapman Men’s Club Volleyball since 2013 and has helped improve the program drastically. Aric has assisted with the USA Men’s National Volleyball team for the last 7 years.
As a player years ago, Aric won several MVP’s and national titles. He has over 15 silver and bronze medal finishes as a player at the national level.
Without Aric’s knowledge and coaching, the Chapman volleyball program would not be as strong as it is today.
Aric will be an excellent coach for our Court 2 girls as he has a strong foundational knowledge of GMS Methods and Principles.

KING'S SUMMER CAMPS
Many of our own varsity stars got their start attending our summer camps. The camps are a mixture of fun and games while we learn to play the game. King's High School coaching staff leads the camps but the start attraction are our high school players that are on the court with the girls teaching them through the skills of the game.
ALL SKILLS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAMP - July 22-24
All Skills Volleyball Camp - $75
All Skills camp is designed for players new to volleyball and those who have several years experience. The camp focuses on fundamentals of serving, passing, setting and hitting. Athletes can expect to improve these skills through the use of competitive team drills. In addition, every athlete will learn offensive and defensive concepts.
Coaches: Bart Foley, Head King's Volleyball Coach, Assistants in the King's Program as well as past and current players.
Location: Mike Martin Gym & King's Garden Gym

Girls will use a variety of drills and game-like situations to develop more advanced skills. Fundamental training and daily competitions will stress serving, passing, setting and hitting. In addition, athletes will learn team defensive concepts and transition offensive systems.
